IONET Community Guidelines.
Abide
by the Law!
IONET and the associated
systems and services are bound by United States law. Any and all unlawful activities are strictly prohibited. Our
team is required to report unlawful activities to the appropriate local or regional
authorities in relation to your use of the system.
Absolutely
no NSFW content!
We have a zero-tolerance
policy for any kind of NSFW content.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Pornographic pictures or
links
- Suggestive content or soft core materal
- Self-harm, graphically violent or gory material.
General
rules/etiquette.
We value free speech and
allow edgy humor on this platform. However, please remain mindful of others and avoid
taking things too far into harassment or toxicity.
- Please keep
discussions in channels appropriate to their purpose and topic.
- This is a primarily English-speaking community. Please use English in all public
channels.
- IONET is intended for adult users. While we currently do not prohibit minors from
participating, the community and services are not designed for them. Guardians are
responsible for any minors in their care.
On Self-promotion: Our policy is flexible. If you are the
owner / maintainer of a software project or a content creator, you may self-promote your
work. However, we reserve the right to warn, mute, or ban users who engage in excessive or
spammy self-promotion. Meaningful community participation is encouraged alongside any
promotion.
Reporting
and Bans:
If you see someone actively
breaking these guidelines, we highly encourage you to report the issue. Here is how you
can report users.
In IRC: /msg or ping any
online channel or server operator (OP). Channel OPs are usually identified by a green or
amber color next to or on the user's name.
You can ping users by typing their username into the chat.
In XMPP: Message or ping any
online MUC owner or administrator.
You can ping users by typing the username into the chat.
Violations may result in temporary or permanent bans or restricted network access.
However, false bans can occasionally occur due to technical issues or moderator error. If
you believe you were banned in error or need clarification, please email johann@ionic1k.net.
